Every once in a while I've gotten a long runner, but recently I've gotten a higher percentage of them--12-24+ hours of CPU time even though preferences are set to 4 hours. Running on two android devices, they tend to get up to 98% or so and then creep along for many hours until completion. Credit is the same as if the task ran 4-5 hours of CPU time.

Same here, this didn't happen for a while now, mostly 8 hours or less, mine get to 99% then start going up slowly +.1% every few hours, right now I have 1 of 24 and another 48h, the first 2 on the picture, I don't mind long running unless it looks like a glitch, or a stuck WU, or a malfunctioning one, taking time from healthy WU to be processed, if you could fix this for the time to be adjusted correctly, by the server if the WU isn't given the right runtime when downloaded

BTW: The waiting for a % of the battery to be charge to continue processing is a false stop, but the processing stops every 6 hours or so when I don't turn on the display. The app to keep the Minirosetta awake doesn't work on any device and was discontinued in 2015, at least no more updates, but what I have found on my Huawri Y330 is that the processing won't stop if I go to: Power Saving -> Background Power Intensive Apps and uncheck BOINC it'll run fine, for about 6 hours until Android kills it anyway, my Tab4 doesn't have this option

I had two go invalid after 30+ hours of CPU time. All the long-runners I had contained "Marie" in the name (ex. SR170731_resub__Marie_0013_SAVE_ALL_OUT_504157_688), and I have since then aborted all of these WUs as I see them in my queue. No problems since then, so maybe it is a problem with this type of WU not getting the stop command when it hits the WU length preference.

I'm at 99.9% since yesterday on a WU that started slowly increasing 0.1 every 12 hours or so since 99% at 12 hours of processing, and now it's 5 days and 14 hours, this is way out of whack, I really don't like this, this could go on forever the % are not realistic, I have 2 other WUs in that condition, even when I whent to computing preferences and set the running time to 8 hours and then to 10 hours, the other 2 WUs are at 99.6% 46 hours and 99.3% 24 hours, why is this not been corrected, I'm thinking on aborting all WUs that pass 24 hours without finishing at normal rate, they seem defective and nobody gives a crap as nobody come to write anything official on this thread, I'm getting pissed, I want to reset the project in my 2 devices!

Well Nobody cares even to answer, or to put an upper limit or to even show the correct computation time, and it doesn't have an option to force it to finish and send the "result" to the server and download a normal length WU; I waited long enough I think, 149, 61 and 38 hours wasted on 3 Cores, resetting project

Hello Usuario1_S,

I am so sorry, this is mine. I'm not sure why this job is failing as it was set up in the same way as other jobs that did not fail and is an incredibly similar scaffold. It is 100% my fault for not noticing sooner and ending it.

I apologize for the wasted computational time. I will be much more vigilant in future.

Won't happen again.

Thank you very much :) I'm happy for the project and people involved thank you again
Actually I don't know what version of Minirosetta for Android I'm running, it won't say anywhere, only the BOINC version, I assume is the latest 3.83, but on my PC is the 3.73, so I'm sorry is this complaint isn't a problem for this version

I had four of those Marie units too, they also asymptotically(?) go to 100% once they reach 98%-99% and will just time out. This is on BOINC 7.4.53 on Android 7.1.2 (actually LineageOS 14.1). Is there any point in not aborting those units after the deadline (or even when I receive them)?

This hasn't happened for a long time (if at all) - no Android tasks for a few days

Glad to see that I'm not the only one wondering where the WUs are. I added World Community Grid for the time being, but this definitely crimps my ability for my team to catch up to the Navy!

I have the total opposite problem: I'm crunching on an 8 core Snapdragon 625 and received 36 WUs at once (!!!). I only wanted to crunch at night, but the deadline of 1 week puts some kind of pressure on me because I do want to finish the tasks. (takes me about 12-15 hours per WU)
How can I reduce the amount of WUs I store? I could not find any option in the android app.

I was going to report an issue with credits, but checking my android tasks I see it's actually been resolved now.

It used to be that I'd get about 200 credits per task, but the last couple of months that dropped to nearer 20.

However, just as I thought of saying something I notice all my tasks from today, have started receiving nearer 200 again.

Having been solved, I guess my remaining question is "did I imagine this?"

Hello, this is for support, or somebody who may be concerned.

I tried to use Rosetta for Android, but found its not working for me. I paused and deleted tasks from queue, and uninstalled app from my smartphone, bud I didnt found button or command to refuse another tasks. Now in my list of tasks are five unfinished tasks:

Work unit: 878560495

Finish until: 25 Feb 2018, 17:30:24 UTC

I am writing here to give a notice for four or five tasks which would never be completed.
Send please this message to someone who may concern.

Thank You and best regards.

Hi,

I am part of a new team (Biblepay) that want's to make bigtime use of the ability to help Rosetta with Android phones. We've been testing for some time now, but for the last two or three days, most of our Android phones haven't received new tasks. It seems that your server and task-generation is online, and one of our users has actually gotten a few tasks, but the rest is all dried up.

Could someone explain what's going on?

Thanks!

Jaap

This is probabbly more a Boinc question than a Rosetta one (I think it's happening with all projects) but hoping someone may know the answer:

I've recently upgraded phone from a Samsung Galaxy S6 to S8.

The S6 always ran with CPU time very similar to runtime but the S8 runs for 58-60,000 seconds to complete the usual 28,800secs of CPU time. How do I change this? I can't see any way to adjust settings in the App - and I'm not sure what settings I'd change either tbh.

Any advice?

No response. Does that mean there isn't an answer or I should just ask in a more appropriate place?

Sid, if this sort of distortion of time is common to all projects, the BOINC boards would be the best place to ask. I think the lack of a reply just indicates the R@h developers are likely uncertain, as their code is not performing the time recording, and that other R@h users are uncertain as well. It may be specific to the hardware?
