I see the server status shows no more work queued for download. I guess if no one is at work today, Friday,
then we will be out at least over the New Year's weekend. Hopefully more will come next week?
Happy New Year everyone!

Happy new year people :) I also saw no new work units over the last few days and after checking again just now found one of my slow machines is crunching but a fast one isn't. I wonder if they both did get work over the last day or so, the fast one has munched thru it already and now there's again nothing new?

Tasks seemed to come through again the other day and I've got a full buffer with more coming down as required. Try a manual update on that machine. There's no obvious reason you shouldn't see tasks on demand.

Thanks - I have hit Update Project twice now and get Communication Deferred for 4 minutes each time, but no new tasks are arriving.

It is running now, but nowhere near as many tasks have come through as the machine can handle. I'll leave it overnight (as always) and see how it looks tomorrow morning.

Taking a quick look, you're getting loads of tasks come through but most of them are crashing out. No idea why that'd be. Do you overclock perhaps?

This morning everything looks back to normal. Some of my WUs crashed as the VM ran out of RAM but that shouldn't happen again :-)

Again I am seeing no work being done by any of my machines. All BOINC clients show "Communication deferred" for Rosetta.

Is there actually no work at the moment, or is something broken?

It might be difficult to tell -- it seems that UW has an extended break between terms and that applies to support staff including those involved with Rosetta.

It is why there has been no response from the project regarding the stats update XML data not having been updated for three weeks --- with no response from the project regarding it.

It may also be why a two or three hour power outage at UW resulted in a 36 hour totally offline period for the project.

You might post to the 'problems' thread --- eventually that might get a response.

Over the ten years I have processed for Rosetta, I have

Hmm -- I have not been able to get non Android work at this point. I hope that is only a function of the extended winter break at UW.

Aaaaand we're back, crunching is underway again.

Try forcing a project update on your client. When mine run out of work, they show "Communication deferred" on a 24 hour countdown. Often the project starts giving out WUs before those 24 hours are up. If you force your client to update, it will immediately see, download, and begin crunching the newly available WUs.
