well it aint movin. dunno why. I reformatted my laptop with windows 7, installed all the updates. It just sits there and doesnt do any research, but lags my computer. Ill check back see if you know what the problem is I guess. its an i7 toshiba s665-a6605. 8 gigs ram so it should be fine on that front. I always have problems with rosetta for some reason. First kept bouncing from 50 to 100 percent on all my computers, then I found a fix for that (windows c++ 2008 redistributable x86) now i do a fresh install and it just hovers at 10%.

Are your BOINC settings ok? Is it set to use your CPU regardless of use? 100% use of all cores? Did you allow it enough RAM? (about 500MB per core)... etc.

Tools -> Computing preferences.

Edit: typo.

The BOINC Manager allows you to define what percentage of CPU you would like to use for the calculations done by the project tasks. When you set this to a number less than 100%, it achieves this by essentially turning the tasks on and off. So it bounces between 100% and zero % running the BOINC tasks. There really is not way to run a task at 65% or whatever you set it to. So it will run 100% for a few seconds and zero % such that it works out to about 65%.

So, just check your BOINC preferences, specifically the processor usage tab, and see what you have specified for "use at most ___ % CPU time".

I had to switch to my boinc bam account, and it doesnt have any problems on bam, so obviously its a server issue.
