Please post any issues that seem specific to Rosetta@home version 3.30 in this thread. v3.30 Addresses issues with Cartesian Relax and the modeling of disulfides in the hybrid protocol for comparative modeling. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Version 3.30 also fixes the MacOS slowdown issue people were seeing with versions 3.24 and 3.26. |

Rocco, I know you are very busy, but is there a quick implementation you could put out that converts at least one type of silent file to pdb - Thanks Michael |

Hi all!! I just try the new version (3.30). Work units fail to initialize and produce only errors! like this: Dim 29 avr 15:08:58 2012 | rosetta@home | Task rb_04_28_31019_62140__t000__2_C1_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_49285_696_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file Dim 29 avr 15:08:58 2012 | rosetta@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. Dim 29 avr 15:08:58 2012 | rosetta@home | Restarting task rb_04_28_31019_62140__t000__2_C1_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_49285_696_0 using minirosetta version 330 in slot 14 Dim 29 avr 15:09:00 2012 | rosetta@home | Task rb_04_28_31019_62140__t000__2_C1_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_49285_696_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file Dim 29 avr 15:09:00 2012 | rosetta@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. My computer : Mac Pro 8 cores HT, OS X 10.6.8, 24GB RAM, Boinc manager 7.0.20 |

Boinc manager 7.0.20 This may be your issue - the 7.0 series pre-7.0.25 were all alpha versions, and aren't recommended anymore. I recall that several of them had permissions issues with downloading the Rosetta@home application (from what I can best tell, this is what's happening to you). I'd recommend either upgrading to 7.0.25 (although people are reporting problems with that version and Rosetta@home), or going back to an older version like 6.12.35 (though the 7->6 transition isn't as straightforward as upgrading https://boinc.bakerlab.org/forum_thread.php?id=5943#72919). |

It seems that the new version of rosetta runs the WUs slower. (or maybe its just me) I've noticed that when running rb_04_29 WUs that the steps per model seem to move much slower. Is this because they are CASP units or because of the new 3.30 version? |

Windows XP 64 with BOINC 7.0.26 64b Every WU aborts with Computation error. In preferencies I set a Target CPU run time of 16 hours. this is the log message: 4/30/2012 11:07:04 PM | rosetta@home | Output file rb_04_29_31054_62231_h002__t0543_IGNORE_THE_REST_04_07_49377_28_0_0 for task rb_04_29_31054_62231_h002__t0543_IGNORE_THE_REST_04_07_49377_28_0 absent Now I reverted back to 12 hours. As soon as I'll receive those new WUs, I'll check this behaviour |

It seems i just ran into 2 particularly large WUs and that is why the steps for them were running slower than what I normally see. |

Every WU aborts with Computation error. In preferencies I set a Target CPU run time of 16 hours. I have the same problem, but if i look at the behaviour, it almost looks like a "1st of May" bug. Yesterday (30th of April) i joined a new machine (i7-2600 running Ubuntu 10.10 x64 and BOINC v6.12.34). Over a period of time machine received 140+ WU's, everything went fine, WU's were calculated and reported ok. According to boinc.log file, it seems all WU's verified after 04/30/2012 23:59:59 UTC generated error below?!? <core_client_version>6.12.34</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> app_version download error: couldn't get input files: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>minirosetta_3.30_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name> <error_code>-120</error_code> <error_message>signature verification failed</error_message> </file_xfer_error> </message> ]]> I did a project reset, but as BOINC says "(reached daily quota of 8 results)", no new WU's received so far... [Edit] Forgot to mention i remotely connected to client with BOINC Manager v7.0.25 x64, just to check progress, then saw all WU's errored. Can this be an issue, although i used same manager to add Rosetta to client projects...? |

1'st of May bug or not, with 12 hours of Task CPU time, now it's running fine |

Correction, after 1hr 28m one WU aborted with the same error type as before |

zioriga: Windows XP 64 with BOINC 7.0.26 64b As far as I'm aware, the latest released version of the BOINC client is 7.0.25. How did you come by 7.0.26? Are you alpha testing the next version? At any rate, it looks like you're seeing the same "Incorrect Function" issue that others have reported with 7.0.25. We unfortunately don't have a solution for it yet. == Grutte Pier [Wa Oars]~Theadalus: It looks like you're having an issue downloading files from the Rosetta@home server. I would take a look at your network connection and firewalls, to see if there's a configuration issue that might be preventing file download or corrupting it. |

Yes I'm a BOINC alpha tester |

Grutte Pier [Wa Oars]~Theadalus: Yesterday machine start receiving wu's again, most of them are calculated and reported ok, but still client errors occur. All client errors are related to 'segmentation violation' (error code 193). Machine results: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=1538006&offset=120 The machine participated 24/7 at Docking@Home without any problems. |

Client errors solved! I lowered memory speed from 1600MHz to 1333MHz, and no 'segmentation violation' errors occured anymore. Although mem specs said 1600MHz @ 1.5V (Corsair Vengeance 16GB Dual Channel Kit), and these setting gave no problems with other projects (Docking@Home), it seems it was too much for Rosetta. |

Client errors solved! Might be worth giving it a run with Prime95 or similar for a couple of hours to make sure there aren't still some errors slipping through ;) |

Client errors solved! I hghly doubt 1600Mhz RAM is an issue, I built this PC with an i5 2500k and 1600 Mhz RAM 3 months ago and wasn't until a week ago I started noticing 70 percent of my jobs are failing with client errors....using 7.0.25 |

Hi. Looks like my first error with the new app, the first copy of this erred on a win machine.
