New machine, i7-3930k, twin Nvidia GTX580's for GPU work, 16 gigs DRAM Machine 1524692, show 49 results, all client error. I put this machine on 8 projects, no other projects are showing any problems. If some admin wants to look at what's going on and tell me what to do, I would appreciate it. stderr out is available, of course, but a wee bit long to post here. http://sciencespringe.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

New machine, i7-3930k, twin Nvidia GTX580's for GPU work, 16 gigs DRAM I have exactly the same problem -- i7-2700K, NVidia GTX 560 Ti, 16GB memory, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit), BOINC Manager 6.12.34 (x64). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

New machine, i7-3930k, twin Nvidia GTX580's for GPU work, 16 gigs DRAM Other users are saying that if you do NOT use your gpu for crunching, elsewhere of course, then Rosie works just fine. It is when both the cpu and the gpu are crunching that there is a problem. For me that is a deal breaker!! |

Sounds like Mikey is saying that Rosetta has GPU. But, I looked at the Project Preferences, there is no evidence of any GPU ability. So, I do not understand the statement. http://sciencespringe.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

Hi! I have the same problem with one of my hosts. Taking into acount what you guys say + my experience this issue is not related to the BOINC version or just GPU crunching. I have one i7 which crunching successfully on Rosetta and crunching for different projects on its GPU. However this GPU is an AMD RADEON 6970. My host which has the described problems has a NVIDIA GPU (GTX 570). The same seems to be true for mitrichr and Wiliam Blakemore. Regards, Rayburner |

Mikey said: ...use your gpu for crunching, elsewhere of course... crunching elsewhere means doing GPU work for some other project. "of course" because R@h has no GPU tasks. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

From your computer's logs, it looks to be the same issue a number of people have pointed out (Successful completion/Exit status: 0x0/Outcome: Client error). If you could confirm it's related to the GPU (e.g. by temporarily turning off GPU crunching in boinc, and seeing if the issue goes away), that would be great. There's also some debugging flags you can try. (See this post.) |

Re: "...If you could confirm it's related to the GPU (e.g. by temporarily turning off GPU crunching in boinc, and seeing if the issue goes away), that would be great...." No, I think not. You guys should be able to test that with someone at "U Dub" in your lab. I have Rosetta on a bunch of other computers, and they are fine, and that's fine with me. I am not about to turn off which just cost me a whole bunch of money. http://sciencespringe.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

Sounds like Mikey is saying that Rosetta has GPU. But, I looked at the Project Preferences, there is no evidence of any GPU ability. So, I do not understand the statement. No you are misreading my message...what I meant was those that use their gpu for crunching, obviously NOT at Rosetta, may be having the problem as opposed to those that do not. I was using version 6 of Boinc, various versions of version 6 and never brought a pc with version 7 of Boinc to Rosie. I did have one pc that worked fine on the Rosie units and it does NOT have a gpu that can crunch in it, so it kind of supports the idea but does NOT confirm it. All the rest of my desktop pc's have gpu's that are actively crunching, for other projects, and they ALL had problems! Gpu and cpu crunching is not in its infancy, this has been going on for awhile now, if Rosie is having problems, in this way, maybe they need to figure out how to use the phone and call someone who has experience in these matters! AND if they don't have a test lab to test these workunits PRIOR to sending them out, there is a problem with their system!!! If they do have a lab they need to WRITE DOWN the testing procedures as it seems they skipped some steps this time around!! |

You know, these error messages may be incorrect. On this machine about which I posted, my statistics in BOINCManager show a nice trending diagonal lower left to upper right, just as they should, with no flat spots, just like all of the other projects on this machine. http://sciencespringe.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

Check out this pc: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1524692 Your other pc's seems to have some intermittent problems but that one seems to have alot of errors. |

Umm ... Rosetta gives you BOINC credit for jobs that error out ... |

That is not at all what I said. What I said was that maybe the error messages are incorrect. http://sciencespringe.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |
