Hallo Community... Hi Stephan, welcome to the wonderful and sometimes insane, world of Boinc. I am new to Rosetta myself, but have crunched numbers for Seti for several months now. The Credits have no real value, except as a way to show that your computer is making a difference. As you aquire credit, you can compare how you are doing compared to others. Some folks also unite together into teams and combine their credits and share in the fellowship of being a part of a team. They are basically a way for the project to express its appreciation for your efforts on its behalf. As to how they calculate the credits, that is a Black Arts mystery that no man, woman or child understands;) |

Welcome to you both! Be sure to check out Dr. Baker's Journal and review or post questions about it to the journal discussion thread. The Q&A has two relevant entries for the credit question. What are credits? Crunch more Rosetta! Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

Hate to be the one to sound like a broken record here, but there's no such thing as a "stupid" question. In fact, sometimes it's those "stupid" questions that are the most intelligent. So ask questions right/left/center... @:^) Just my two cents worth of wisdom for the day... I have a very stupid Question: What are the earned credits good for? There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
