What was it again? Some kind of CSPAN or C-Section or CNBC thingy or something? Wasn't it supposed to go to August 1st or so? Is it still going, or is it over? Does Dr. Baker still need all firepower he (that is an assumption, the "he") can get right now or not? Many thanks!! Phoenix The Liver is EVIL. It must be PUNISHED! Team-SciFi |

Welp! Saw in another forum that apparently the contest is indeed complete. True? Time to start giving time to other BOINC projects....? The Liver is EVIL. It must be PUNISHED! Team-SciFi |

It is not over until Monday, August 7th. Please continue to dedicate as many resources to Rosetta@Home until then. Even after the contest is over, Rosetta still needs as much power as it can get. It's not like they only need it for this and then you can stop crunching. They will still need people crunching for them to help work on their goals and models. |

The closing date for regular submissions is Monday 7th August, however, there is a further 3 weeks for refinement proteins of which there are a small number. (that is an assumption, the "he") David is a "he". The first picture in this thread is David Baker. I have been posting the news flashes from CASP in this thread. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

CASP7 may end Monday but Rosetta continues. I'd like to see 2-3 times the computational power brought to this project that it currently has. Rosy may be in her infancy and needs to be properly "fed" so that she matures and can be the benefit to mankind that I think she can. There are other worthwhile projects out there but I don't beleive any hold the promise that Rosetta does in the long run. Thanks for your time, Movieman |

Just a side note; After CASP 7 ends, the real work should begin before long. Not only bringing in rosetta@home in on the second round HIV grant modeling, but also, the other new design/docking modeling along with model prediction improvements. |

Another note, get your results reported ASAP. I mean don't crunch a 24 WU and report is Monday at 11:59PM. Bakerlab needs some time to analyze what you send back in order to formulate their CASP submission. Unfortunately, I've not seen stated exactly how large that time window is. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
