I used the BOINC version 7.16.20 (x64) for a long time to run several BOINC projects. A month ago my Windows (Win7 x64) got trouble so I had to reinstall it. Afterthat I installed the newest BOINC version 7.20.2 and then added my BOINC projects. The Einstein@H and the Milkyway@H were added with no problem, but the Rosetta and the Science United were not added despite I tried to add them many times per day. After a week with no success, I uninstalled the BOINC 7.20.2 and reinstalled the BOINC 7.16.20 (with the virtual box, of course) and successfully added all of my projects. All the projects have run OK untill recently, when downloads of the Rosetta work units have been stalled. |

If the server doesn't run, nobody can download wus, it doesn't matter if you are running linux or windows. Just accept it. If you still have running wus, they were downloadad before the server stopped. Greets Felix |

If you still have running wus, they were downloadad before the server stopped. I tried that line but apparently there are people running Windows native who are receiving WUs despite the server being down. I do not understand how but as confirmation the outstanding queue has dropped from 6,340,000 to 6,320,000 over the past day - at that rate it must be intermittently sparking, it cannot be a continuous feed surely. |

I had the stuck downloading issue too. On Windows x64. I updated my Bonic manager to 7.20.2 and it cleared up the downloading problem. I had been 7.16.11 -ken c |

My explanation would be, that those wus get assigned, but will also get stuck in download. If you look at the last graph of the following url, you can see, when new work became available in the past. I would interpret this graph like this: 1. the new batch of wus came yesterday. (I think we can see this as proven) 2. The downloadserver worked at the beginning, some wus got out in the field and also returned. 3. at some point of the day, wus still were assigned, but couldn't be downloaded and therefore couldn't be calculated and uploadad. Leads to credits yesterday, but drasticaly lower as expectet. https://www.boincstats.com/stats/14/project/detail/credit Greets Felix Edit: Typo |

I had the stuck downloading issue too. On Windows x64. I updated my Bonic manager to 7.20.2 and it cleared up the downloading problem. I had been 7.16.11 I've had 1 system getting WU and 2 others with stalled downloads. The stalled downloads were on earlier versions of BOINC whereas the other system was a recent build. Now all updated to 7.20.2 and all now crunching!!! |

My windows box is running 7.20.2 and it downloads just fine. Unfortunately, my Linux box is also running 7.20.2, and has been running it since last July, but it just started failing to download Rosetta tasks a few days ago. All five other projects in which I participate, download correctly. |

Fun Fact: I just checked both of your currently active PCs, the windows one hasn't tried to download wus since early yesterday morning. So maybe you where lucky and got those before the problems showed up. Greets Felix |

Here is some fun for you from reading stuff and willing to try anything I [ just finished now on a win7 system] upgraded boinc from 7.16.20 vpox .. to 7.20.2 vplox.. and work that has been siting in download backoff for two days downloaded without me doing anything and is crunching I did have three files stick in `backoff` and clicked `retry now` and this time they did download instantly boinc mangler requested more work and now gets "ssl connect error" "project servers down" stuff . Well I got something to crunch , maybe I hit the server at just the right time etc anyone else care to try the upgrade and see what happens And the download server is still "not running" |

Pardon, i have to excuse myself... I also upgraded my Boinc install from 7.16.7 to 7.20.2, and all stalled downloads downloadad just fine. This is really interessting, i have never seen such thing before. Lets see, wheter following WUs will also download, or if they will get stuck again. Greets Felix |

I also was NOT getting WU's. Downloaded and installed 7.20.2 (x64). As soon as BOINC manager started, I promptly received seven WU's and they are running. Just checked the server "status" and it showed "not running". |

Thank you, Felix, Following you, I updated my BOINC from 7.16.20 to 7.20.2 (without uninstalling the old BOINC version, the projects and tasks of the old version remaining untouched). And now all the stalled downloads have been successfully downloaded. |

clair and vdquang, none of you are using BOINC v7.20.2, which, for some reason, seems to work. |

clair and vdquang, none of you are using BOINC v7.20.2, which, for some reason, seems to work. Read my previous three posts I have upgraded one of my systems to 7.20.2 to see what happened and all the work that downloaded is now stuck unable to upload and has now timed out past its use by date Oh what a waste of crunching time it was This last few years rosetta has gone downhill I will let them off with not fixing the download server over the weekend though there is not much of Monday left on the clock |
