I just noticed that, yeah, the server status page reports work only for Android. I suppose computers requested all the available work! At least there's WUs being dispatched at all. I'm sure we'll have more PC WUs by Monday - either that or it'll be a few days for new hosts to give up, decreasing the WU distribution strain. |

I just noticed that, yeah, the server status page reports work only for Android. I suppose computers requested all the available work! World Community Grid has announced that they plan to start a COVID-19 subproject soon, with nothing definite yet about when. Once that happens, a good fraction of the load should move over there. If you want to be ready for that, add WCG as one of the BOINC projects for your computer. Select at least one of their existing subprojects so that your account will set up properly, but be sure to select adding any new subprojects that start later. Note that Rosetta@home is located it the US state of Washington, the first state with cases of COVID-19. They're probably still on lockdown, with their work classified as nonessential. The developers are likely to be having problems working from home, and generating an adequate supply of workunits at the same time. Let me know if you've found anything reliable about the situation there being different from this. |

They're probably still on lockdown, with their work classified as nonessential.Seriously? Finding a cure or vaccine isn't considered essential work over there? Seriously? Grant Darwin NT |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priority https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prioritization I never get trained, for also the educated it could be, when only just Round-robin for a scheme I could make it, for not any affinity it could be either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affinity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Processor_affinity For only just the result-oriented it could be at times, we should also know the way things could be carried out, when only tasks for such. But for still perhaps a scheme instead, only a scheduler for such, except a bit uncertain, when just given name syntax here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round-robin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schedule Anyone perhaps offering an explanation, and the answer much welcome, except still scheduling instead. |

Folks, please give the UW team time. They're getting WU's out as soon as they reasonably can. It's important to issue useful work, not just have work for the sake of working. As others have suggested, you can set your BOINC resource share such that Rosetta@Home is prioritized when work is available, and fallback to a secondary project when work is not available. See https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=13533&postid=92757#92757 |

As others have suggested, you can set your BOINC resource share such that Rosetta@Home is prioritized when work is available, and fallback to a secondary project when work is not available. World Community Grid is a good choice for the secondary project, especially if you have set it up to allow tasks from new subprojects as soon as they are available. They are planning to add a subproject related to COVID-19 soon. |

Greetings, I haven't been getting any new tasks and it's not because there are none to be had. The main page shows more than 500K tasks to go out. Rosetta is the only project working right now. Not getting anything from SETI under the circumstances. One other thing. Rosetta is running in high priority continuously. Any thoughts? :) Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr XO USS Vre'kasht NCC-33187 "Logic is the cement of our civilization with which we ascend from chaos using reason as our guide." - T'Plana-hath |

Greetings, If you look at tasks by application: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/server_status.php (Which updated an hour after the main page - 15:00 UTC VS 16:00 UTC) |

While I was confused I wasn't receiving new work units, I now know why. And... I am pleased! This means we--as a community--have given them so much computational power that we are successfully keeping up with their needed simulations. Keep up the great work everyone, and keep your computers ready for more crunching when the time arrives! Don't forget to check out other BOINC projects as well. I am doing other medical science projects at this time, but have the ability to assist in other sciences as well--just like you all. Keep crunching! :) Best, Derek |

One other thing. Rosetta is running in high priority continuously. It looks like you didn't start working on your tasks until quite close to deadline - it might be tied in with whatever other tasks you already had for other projects. But since you posted you've completed quite a few so I'm guessing they've started to drop down from high priority now? Boinc will sort out what work it brings down in future now you've completed and returned that work today |

One other thing. Rosetta is running in high priority continuously. Hi Sid, The tasks are no longer running high priority. They were for several days and the only other project I am on is SETI and there's no work there for several days. Thanks! :) [edit] SETI has gone into hibernation.[/edit] Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr XO USS Vre'kasht NCC-33187 "Logic is the cement of our civilization with which we ascend from chaos using reason as our guide." - T'Plana-hath |

Should tell that here choosing to get some new tasks right now, for also the Folding@home client being downloaded. For that also a need to restart that application for not any running, but rather that I already was attached to this project (Rosetta@home). So getting the message about this project using an old URL, and for that, http rather than https, needing a detach, and next a reattach, becomes that cumbersome, for also inconvenient. If not being mentioned before, such a message better should already be told or mentioned, for that of being attached to the project. To get that fixed, at least having to finish and upload the tasks first, before next detaching for also reattaching. So therefore, post such a message for only being attached, not necessarily for making it NNT for that of downloading new tasks. |

Should tell that here choosing to get some new tasks right now, for also the Folding@home client being downloaded. It is difficult, but not impossible, to make Folding@home run on the same computer and at the same time as any BOINC projects. I've done it, so I can offer some advice on how to do it under Windows. Start on a computer that has a large number of CPU cores. BOINC makes it fairly easy to control the number of CPU cores it uses, and assumes you mean virtual CPU cores Folding@Home makes it possible, but does not offer good instructions on how to do it. I had to find out by experiment. There does not seem to be a reasonable way to make BOINC and Folding@Home share a GPU, so choose one of them to get the GPU. I haven't gone into what you can do if you have more than one GPU since few people have computers with more than one slot that can accept a graphics board. By default, CPU work under Folding@Home allows each CPU task to use several CPU cores at once. The maximum number depends on what Power setting you use. Light usually allows half as many as either of the other two settings. You can find the slots setting page, create a new CPU slot that specifies how many CPU cores it can use, and then delete the default CPU slot. For my computer, it appeared to assume that it was how many real CPU cores it could use. I have not checked if you can have more than one active CPU slot at the same time without drastically slowing down both of them. Leave at least one virtual CPU core free for BOINC management, and at least one real CPU core for Folding@home management, to avoid large slowdowns. By default, GPU work under Folding@home is not allowed. If you want to enable it, go to the slots setting page, and fill out values in the GPU section of the page. Before you finish creating this new slot, you MUST find and click on the faint circle to the left of the GPU section. You MUST have the power level set to Full while your first GPU task runs. I've seen conflicting information about how the power setting affects GPU work after that. On my computer, the Light setting stops any GPU work, the Full setting allows it, and the Medium setting is inconsistent about what it does for GPU work. Someone else wrote that any Power setting then allows GPU work. Be sure to reserve one CPU core for GPU work if you can. It is possible to set Folding@home to do GPU work only. For this, go to their slots settings page, and tell it to delete the CPU slot. The first time you do this, it will probably immediately recreate it, so be ready to do it again. When you start Folding@home Web Control, it will start by showing progress for both the CPU task in progress and the GPU task in progress, but some details only for the CPU task. To make it show those details for the GPU task instead, click on the spinning circle of that task. The credits system for BOINC emphasizes how much work your computer has done; the one for Folding@home emphasizes how fast it was done and returned. The one for Folding@home tends to give many more credits, especially for GPU work. Folding@home has some forums available, but I haven't been able to log in to them so I could post there. The forums for Rosetta@home and GPUGRID are better places to ask questions about Folding@home, at least for me. Folding@home has mentioned that they are thinking of producing a BOINC version of their application, but probably not until AFTER their COVID-19 work is done. Don't expect to see it on BOINC's project list until the next BOINC update after that is done. I've read about one more project that does GPU work for COVID-19 research, but have not found information on whether it can can on the same computer at the same time as BOINC or Folding@home: Quarantine@Home (GPU only for Linux) https://quarantine.infino.me/ |

Mr. Miles You are making a long of it, when I could make it a short one. Here I could suggest you check in with the computer of a user, before any response being made. I should also have stated that I could be launching the Folding@home client independently of just BOINC for that of an application. Here only just knowing as far as I am able to tell, for also learning a little as well. For now I choose not to make Rosetta@home my favorite project, for also priority being set, for only wanting to help curing a disease. You could find me at Seti@home, for that of more than 6.5 million total credit, as well as also PrimeGrid, with some 26.9 million for that of the same. The post any messages here, was just the Notices tab in BOINC Manager for such a thing, for also the notice it should be. Really because of only what I tried here, for also the Account Manager being thrown out, for just in the way, and this one for that of Science United. So it goes, for only the selection I could make, for also given choice. |

spiralis, I got this message, obviously not secret, after your private message. On Folding@home, I haven't been able to check in with ANY of their users yet, except at BOINC projects where they also participate. I got a passkey from Folding@home, and started participating there, but the passkey email was unclear enough about how to log to their forums that I haven't been able to do that yet. |

Apologies, Mr Miles for that little harsh or strong wording. But here being more strong in just favor of perhaps ending up throwing out the Folding@home client as well, for not any reporting or updating of results. In any way, if perhaps more that of being affiliated with Science United here, I already did so for that in BOINC Manager, in that it did not become any individual credit, based on a single user for that of running, which is more what I prefer. Testing out with the Account Manager for that of the same, it became a little waste of time perhaps, in that also that one was thrown out, from BOINC Manager here. When running under the account of Science United, for the more individual it could be for that of projects, I still do not see my individual credit, for just personal such. Therefore, such a thing becomes the tasks as well, for which there should be given credit, when next successful. But here also noticing the quite irregular for such when it comes to tasks here at Rosetta@home, which apparently there is no remedy for. So if shying away from possible running times being too long, I next count some four different labelings or result types from the Status field or column in the tasks. Here only Completed and validated returns some credit of course, for also the time it could take. So here Seti@home ended up in hibernation, for me only to select another project instead. But here also any blood disease not any common either, for only tumors in the brain instead, for a blood clot for such, and also that of medical diagnosis, for just treatment for the same. Both the white blood cells, for also corpuscles for such, and also the Macrophags, are the body cleaners for just sweepers for such, in that they do the dirty job for just cleaning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymphocyte https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macrophage But from just a bit of web experience, also that of Histamine also coming my way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histamine The unfortunate here is that such a thing could also be associated with that of Cancer, for also the treatment needed for this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer But here Cancer more that of a genetical defect, while a virus could still be an unwelcome visitor or guest instead. So like a parasite, for also the Bacteria it could be, still an unwelcome guest for only using or utilizing the body resources for its own purpose. But rather the the human body should defend itself by means of the immune system, where there still could be both white blood cells and Macrophags here. We also know that Enzymes could be part of it for just DNA or RNA, if not any digestion either, but also that Proteins could be that of similar, for just a binding mechanism for such. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enzyme Almost like that of suffering from pollen allergy here, where that of substance next could mean a cure, for only inhibiting for such. For that, it becomes my own suffering in the summer time, except not taking any medicines right now. Almost like cake, where it could be both sugar and meal, and next these are just ingredients for making such a cake, except still only Proteins instead. It could still be acid in water, for only the test tube being flipped around, except also knowing that this could be happening for that of molecules instead. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molecule Therapies are supposed to be treatments for just the same, and for that such a thing is needed, in order to cure a disease. Here we know that the Human genome could become almost a "Blue Book" for such, when that of complexity, for still the Proteins making up both DNA and RNA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_genome So therefore still the genetical aspect for such a thing, for also the research that could be next going on, for that of finding treatments and also cures. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone Add to it that of Hormones as well, and it becomes the whole landscape for which Medicine is still a part of. |
