spiralis,

I got this message, obviously not secret, after your private message.

On Folding@home, I haven't been able to check in with ANY of their users yet, except at BOINC projects where they also participate.

I got a passkey from Folding@home, and started participating there, but the passkey email was unclear enough about how to log to their forums that I haven't been able to do that yet.

I finally found out more about the Folding@home forums, and am now able to log in there. The forums don't use anything from the passkey email. Instead, scroll down the page for logging into the forums, and you'll see a section for creating a separate account specific to the forums. I don't remember whether that section was in place during the first day or two that I tried to log in to the forums.

Folding@Home Forum

https://foldingforum.org/index.php

I agree that Folding@home should do more to show what results were accepted.

I found an article where a researcher thinks that COVID-19 is actually a blood vessel disease.

New Evidence Suggests COVID-19 May Actually Be a Blood Vessel Disease

Here a message for the project instead, namely that of a bad URL.

Asking that this one now could be removed from the Notices tab of the Manager, since I detached, and next reattached.

Also I could be checking with the links provided by robertmiles here as well, of course.

Thanks!

Click on the Notices tab to view the message, then back to any other tab. No more messages about the URL- unless you connected back to the old one instead of using the new one.
If you don't want the message, connect to the new URL. No more URL Message.

Hi Grant!

I disconnected from here before receiving new tasks, as already told or mentioned.

Before reattaching, changing the bad URL, so it became https here, but the message about this is still left in the Notices at left in the Manager.

Anyway, if any confusion, it also could read Messages here for that of tab, but only becomes "M" twice at first.

So therefore not needed anymore, and should be removed.

And here this message as well, from the now separate Folding@home:

Dear pinkpanther:
Greetings from Science United. Your computers haven't reported work in the last 7 days. Please check that BOINC is installed, unsuspended, and attached to Science United. Get help here.

Thanks for participating in Science United.

Yes, I did use the name pinkpanther for also Seti@home, but ended up becoming the one chosen for next Folding@home, but here should only be the tasks this time.

The only thing known, is that there could be other users with the same name, except also the mentioned fact that no credit is being offered or awarded,
for only by means of Science United here.

But for only that of separate it should be, for not any related with BOINC Manager, perhaps not correct assuming that this should be an Account Manager here either.

For just this just happening, quite tempting to just terminate Folding@home for that of application, and next uninstall it.

Next finishing off the remaining tasks with this project (Rosetta@home), and next doing the same thing.

First of all, the bonkers thing, namely that GPUGrid chose to attach me using the Account Manager first (Science United), using my full personal name coming from somewhere in BOINC.

Therefore not doing anymore just there either.

Here guessing it became that of Account Manager first, for only disconnecting from it later, and here I rather would have preferred continuing with the other three projedts,
namely Asteroids@home, Einstein@home, and Milkyway@home, for not any bad at all.

But also here. reporting what I had, for still tasks in progress, and next detaching in the same way, for only running the projects separately, or outside the Account Manager.

The best thing here is just removing that message, and I could keep going on here, for still the need it could be, for only finding a cure.

And next could add that I ended up with themighty.com here, for perhaps a bit too much from the start, and here secure page.

Also getting the cookie question or request as it might quite often do, but also the "Hi there" message box popping up at the same time.

My suggestion here is giving the cookie advice first, and next the message box, but perhaps only minimized at the start, except that this still for only that web-page.

The worse thing is that asking me for any personal or medical details, is not really a thing I want to do, so perhaps leaving it there.

Here such a thing should be with only a local doctor, or national health register, and not being sold or transmitted abroad.

In my opinion, a survey could be conducted on behalf of possible research, but for only still a secure page, also that of the Tor browser could be more preferred.

Doing it in such a way, it could next guarantee that of anonymity for a given subject or person, for also the medical details being returned back.

Meant projects in a previous post, but still thinking I could be doing well, for only just contributing.

But was it so, for not any engage it should be, and only a helm or rudder instead, when still at ship, for also the helmet for such?

That part, for only a lesson, and perhaps still only taught, for not any finished it could be.

Make it only a lacking sentence instead, and also a lack of understanding as well, for still not any hesitating or misunderstanding it could be either.

So here "the Act", for not any obviousness or platitude, for only just "stick around" instead.

Boinc is not sharing credits with Folding@home because they are two seperate entities, think of your family and mine....mine is here and yours is there and we do not share anything except crunching. Folding@home does crunching and Boinc does crunching but they both do it differently and under different programs, another example is Android and Apple phones...they are both phones but they do not share stuff beyond that.

You are discovering the problems with Account Managers...they often do things their way which is not always your way. They assume things because the programmer thought it was cool to do it that way, but that doesn't always work for everyone. 99% of people never use an Account Manager to manage Boinc and it works just fine, some small percentage of people are better off using an Account Manager because they just can't figure Boinc out on their own.

My machines are idle since days. No need for compute power anymore? Unfortunately, regarding fluent delivery of work this project has become increasingly unreliable, lately.

Increase the computing power working on the project by a order of magnitude in a period of weeks and what do you get?

Far from being increasingly unreliable the project has worked wonders keeping the flow going as well as it has.

I beg to differ.
I can't see a wonder in having no WUs in the field of computational chemistry where it is known that the scientific problems awaiting solutions are larger than what could ever be achieved in a lifetime - even with the entire's planet compute power running 24/7 on these.

Michael.

P.S.: At least, the issue of the order of deadlines of WUs handed out to the client machines appears to be resolved now - which is VERY good.

You're leaving out one key ingredient. Even if the entire planet's compute power were available to solve scientific problems 24/7, there's not much point without qualified humans to create the work units and interpret the results. Baker Lab is just one relatively small organization taking on a large task. I'm sure they could spend more of their finite effort creating work units to keep volunteers happy. But isn't the quality of the science more important than the quantity?

A whole bunch of "mini_proteins_fight_ebola_1_0_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_3dp3ve2d_85_5" named files just dropped on the Ralph beta test app, so I expect to see these come to Rosetta soon if the test goes well.

CIA,

GPUGRID has gone through a list of mini-proteins lately, so it looks worth checking whether Rosetta@home's mini-protein duplicates that work, or extends it, GPUGRID did not check whether their mini-proteins were relevant to COVID-19 work, though.

Ding-ding, but next how are you doing?

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6668122

And only that of the best and so on, for not any rest, for still only what I could find.

Make it just boinc.bakerlab.rosetta for only a credible project here, and next not just the other thing, for still what it could be either.

Any cure for that of an illness, and next only sick because of a famine instead.

I could be making it still that of the FAH client for only just running, except still not any reporting of results it could be instead.

Terminating the FAH client for only just quitting, and next also a farewell for not any bowing either.

But next the whole thing could make me only feel sick, for still not any illness it could be instead.

So it goes.

It has been dropping steadily for at least 10 days. Since they probably won't top off over the weekend, and since we are probably in a summer lull anyway, I expect that The End is Near.
For now, anyway.

PS - the Server Status is shown on the front page.

?
No it hasn't it's been pretty steady for some time now. Still sitting at close to 30,000 Tasks Ready to send.
Since we last ran out of work in June, we haven't come close to running out of work since. The lowest it's been since then has been around 24.5k, and even then it was only for a few hours.

PS - the Server Status is shown on the front page.
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
Which doesn't show how much work is waiting to be sent out. for that you need the Server Status page- Computing, Server Status.
Computing status, Work, Tasks ready to send 29886.

I think you need to look at the Server Status again.
We will be out by morning (in the U.S.). Then, you will see it in the "Tasks Ready to send".
