Can anybody help me with a little problem! Have had a hunt around but can only find help on setting up proxy...but not removing it!

I am having a problem with my BOINC client running under Linux

The machine used to be behind a proxy...but now I have moved it so that it has a direct connection.

So accrdingly I have removed all references to the old proxy servers from BOINC (and elsewhere in Linux) but BOINC never seems to pay any attention to my changes and keeps putting the proxy settings back in and enabling them. I have even edited them out of the config file..but they keep reappearing!

Needless to say this is beginning to make me a little irritated as it is stopping me updating my WU's

Thanks for your time

Richard

I assume of course that you stopped boinc while editing the config file! Which version of the boinc software are you running - this sometimes matters

I have never used the proxy settings so can't help you directly.

A workaround would be

1. set no more work on all your projects

2. set a public proxy as a proxy or temporarily re-instate your proxy or temporarily install a proxy on the same box

3. wait till all work has been uploaded & reported

4. uninstall & re-install boinc from scratch

However, there should be a better solution than this - anyone got any ideas?
