First, I apologize if I have placed this in the wrong area. I have managed to setup another notebook to crunch some numbers. However, I just realized that I don't have enough RAM. I'm running 64Megs on an IBM Pen3 550Mhz, WinXP SP2. Does anyone know where I can get some cheep PC100/PC133 SODIMM 128Megs of RAM? I'm only reviving this notebook for the project so I'm not looking to spend big bucks. Thanks again for your help. Brent Canada eh? |

Ebay is great. . in adition to that, I know as a geek I looked through my stash for any extra parts (no luck). A lot of us are pretty happy to send off parts sitting in a closet when we know they'd go toward something useful. -E |

Does www.crucial.com have a compatibility listing for your laptop? Another spot to visit would be www.pricewatch.com; although I've been nailed by shipping charges from some of the vendors on that list.. ($80 to send a motherboard from New York, NY, to Kodiak, AK. - $30 for shipping, $50 for handling.) |

That uses the same RAM as a t20/21 I think. I will rummage through my closet tonight, I may have some. |

Np, thanks so much for looking! I'm checking around for something cheap. As I mentioned previously, this is just something I want to help out with. So, I'm trying not to invest too much as I don't use this laptop. Brent Canada Eh? |

Hold it....PC133 will work...However, it just won't utilize the 33. It will run it as 100. Email me at my personal email address so I can make necessary arrangements. Thanks again, Brent Canada Eh? |

If 133 will work, send me an e-mail at johnnycgann@hotmail.com with your address and I will ship you a 128MB. But.. One IBM's site.. It says the following NOTE: Field replaceable uint (FRU) part numbers identified in the CRU column with an asterisk are customer replaceable units. Memory options Option part number FRU part number CRU 32MB 100MHz SDRAM SoDIMM 20L0253 (Withdrawn 25 Jun 2001) 20L0263 * 64MB 100MHz SDRAM SoDIMM 20L0254 20L0264 * 128MB 100MHz SDRAM SoDIMM 20L0255 20L0265 * NOTE: 100MHz systems must use 100MHz memory. Withdrawn means that the product is no longer marketed by IBM. |
