OK Mike, put those eyballs back in your head, and don't look at my signature!! Look at her instead :) Although, what is that in front of you in your avatar Tiare Rivera Taiba? It looks like a large plastic flower which has melted and is drooping. It must be very hot in Chile :) A message from my penguin |

what is that in front of you in your avatar Tiare Rivera Taiba? It looks like a large plastic flower which has melted and is drooping. Let me see if I got this...are you talking about the picture? It's the Arecibo antenna....I'm a big fan of Contact and Seti@home, so I use this picture to be recognized everywhere I go. by the way, welcome ix!! It must be very hot in Chile :) yes, we are in the middle of winter, but is still very hot! it hasn't rained yet...we are even thinking in a dry season.... |

I don't think iX clicked on your profile, the image in the background is very recognisable. Oh iX mate! You might want to click on mine as well ;-) and see what I do in my free time. [edit] Actually, I have to be very carefull about that, the youngest female entertainer I've filmed was 15. There are very strict Australian Standards and requirements to do that. I'm also watched from the control room and there is a floor manager and three other camera operators too. All for the obvious reasons. So any interaction between on-air talent and crew is subject to scrutiny. Been there, done that, screwed it up ;-) I'll get free beer for life with that story though. She was not from the above band, my friend was in a retro band [/edit] Click here to join the #1 Aussie Alliance on Rosetta |

what is that in front of you in your avatar Tiare Rivera Taiba? It looks like a large plastic flower which has melted and is drooping. Thank you Tiare, I did look at your profile, but it still looked like a fuzzy triffid to me, but now you have explained it's obvious. But then it wouldn't be to an alien, would it? I own the domain name 'surfingwithaliens.com' - it's not hosted anywhere so don't look for it, but there you are; you're looking for aliens and they can only see droopy flowers :)
Thank you very much Tiare. It must be very hot in Chile :) But it must depend on where you are in Chile. It is such a long country and must be very cold in the south. A message from my penguin |

wow! It seems you know about my country... OK, I'm not particulary interested in hearing from aliens, but I've joined up at Seti@home to find out more. Hope to see you there soon ;) Oh well, I can't post there until I have some credit. Live now and pay later I say. A message from my penguin |

really? that's great! and just because I talked about it??? much better!!!! I have always thought it was a waste of time listening out for aliens; far too many other useful projects to crunch for, Rosetta@home being a most obvious useful candidate. However, there is always that element of interest. I own a computerised telescope and am certainly interested in what is 'up there'. Maybe even aliens who can cure our diseases. So yes, it was just because I saw a drooping flower, which turned out to be a listening dish, and most importantly you being a big fan of "Contact". Some years ago I wrote a web site, and if you listen carefully you will hear 'contact' here. Thanks again for your welcome Tiare, iX A message from my penguin |
