I discovered Rosetta@home and BOINC through the The Economist's article "How to determine a protein's shape" (https://www.economist.com/news/science-and-technology/21716603-only-quarter-known-protein-structures-are-human-how-determine-proteins) and have been fascinated by it ever since.
